Tower Crane and Hoist Service Technician

Location: Denver, CO
Pay: $35 to $45+ per hour, based on experience. Senior techs who check every box can earn well above the range.
Schedule: Full time, about 50% yard and 50% field, plus a rotating Saturday on-call (1 to 2 weekends a month)
Travel: Up to 25%

Keep the tallest machines on the jobsite running

Our client is a family-owned company and one of the top five tower crane companies in the nation. They rent, service and even build their own tower cranes and hoists. They are big, but they run small: no corporate layers, no waiting weeks for answers. You work directly with the people who run the company. What you will do

• Prep tower cranes and personnel and material hoists in the yard for delivery and erection
• Deliver, erect, climb and dismantle equipment on high-rise and commercial jobsites
• Troubleshoot electrical controls: contactors, relays, motors, drives, wiring diagrams and prints
• Run scheduled PM programs on cranes and hoists in the field
• Answer service and breakdown calls and get machines back up and running
• Work a mixed fleet including Alimak hoists, Terex and Comansa tower cranes, and the company's own crane brand
• Cover the Denver branch territory: Colorado plus jobs in Wyoming, Utah, Oklahoma and Iowa, and mountain projects in places like Aspen and Telluride. Trips run a few days, then you come home.
• Source your own parts and supplies with a company card after your 90-day probationary period, so you are never stuck waiting

What you bring

• Senior-level field service experience: you run calls on your own and own the fix from start to finish
• Strong electrical troubleshooting on heavy equipment, cranes, hoists, elevators or industrial machinery
• Read and work from electrical schematics and prints
• Tower crane or construction hoist experience is a plus, not a must. All terrain and mobile crane techs who are comfortable at heights are a strong fit, and erection is trainable.
• Rigging and erection experience is a plus
• Comfortable working at heights and outdoors in all weather
• OSHA 10 required (OSHA 30 a plus)
• NCCCO Tower Crane certification is a big plus. Not required, and they will support you in getting it.
• Self-starter who does not need babysitting and can roll with a schedule that changes often
• Available for the weekend on-call rotation and travel up to 25%. A passport is a plus for international jobs.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record, and able to pass a background check and drug screen
